Costume Teaser! Nutcracker....SWEET!

Here's a bit of a costume teaser image for ya! I don't know if I mentioned that my daughter's studio puts on a contemporary style of The Nutcracker Suite and they call it The Nutcracker....Sweet! The show is composed of the same characters done in a funky new way mixing traditional ballet along with hip hop, jazz, and modern dance. I grew up going to the traditional Nutcracker each year and this just adds that special kick to the show! FUN! Anyway I'm still waiting on the leotard then I will dress her up and take her picture for ya! Thanks for checking in!

I've been thinkin'......

Hi All, long time no blog!

Things here have been wild and I didn't plan to be away as long as I have. Looks as if it will be awhile longer! I have been thinking of ways to make my life easier, and carve out some much needed studio time while I'm at it. In the future I think I am going to list beads to my Etsy shop once a month at the same time each month. Kinda like a custom boutique here in my town that sells handmade goods. The shop is open the first Thursday of each month and then builds stock the remaining three weeks of the month for the next first Thursday. I would love to hear some feedback in response to my idea, whadda ya think?

The Nutcracker performance is quickly approaching for my daughter. She got a part as a doll this year ( along with 3 other parts )and you should see her costume! Hot Pink and Black ~ Big Pancake Tutu with a hot pink leotard and striped socks it's gonna be SO frackin' cute. I've been busy sewing accessories for her and dyeing her pointe shoes BLACK!!! LOL! Love it! ~ I will be sure to post her picture for you all to see.

Taking some time off.....

I'm taking a few weeks off from the torch! While I'm away my daughter and I are traveling home ( where I grew up )and going with my mom and some friends to see Mamma Mia the musical! I have been looking forward to it for awhile now ~ I'm a huge ABBA fan and I loved the movie as well.

I should have limited access to the net, so if you need to shoot me an email (linky in the upper right sidebar) I will respond while I'm away.

We interrupt this regularly scheduled life.........

The flu has officially hit my household! I knew it would come! Right now it's just got hold of my poor son. I took him into acute care last night because he had such a sore throat and I wanted to make sure that it wasn't strep ~ nope the rapid culture was negative. This new flu strain H1N1 ( which I think the whole US has totally blown out of proportion in my honest opinion) attacks people where they are the weakest. My son has had pneumonia that progressed rapidly in the past, it puts him at risk for this strain of flu which in some has ended up in a severe bacterial infection in the lungs and death. Anyhoo, things aren't as bad as the media hype....low grade fever and body aches at this joint. He's hanging in there though.

I'm on my way to the studio for the morning, I figure while the sicky sleeps I can torch a set of beads or two. I'm thinking a small update might happen by the end of the weekend but I will keep you posted.
